Antique Store Schenectady, NYAbout Patricia's Room

Patricia's Room is the result of years of study and cultivating an understanding of popular culture as well as classical design. What started out as a part-time venture has become a full-time adventure into the realm of tangible history. Formerly housed in downtown Troy, New York in the Bournebrook Antique Center,  we continue to feature vintage furniture from primitive to Mid-Century Modern at our new location which is just a stone's throw from Proctors Theater and other fine antique and dining venues at 162 Jay Street, Schenectady, New York.  We also specialize in unique designer items that capture the eye and the imagination. We never cease to research the old collectibles as well as the upcoming collectibles from the late 20th Century. To this end, we pride ourselves in being ahead of the times regarding what's hot and what's not.

Since Patricia, who holds a B.A. in Theater and an M.A.T. in English, is devoted to being true to historical time periods, set designers from the movie and stage industry have visited her frequently. We have provided props for Julie & Julia, Taking Woodstock, and The Williamstown Theatre Festival. Oprah's Nate Berkus purchased items for an interior makeover that was featured in November of '08. In the fall of '09 Boardwalk Productions purchased several turn of the century items for the HBO Series Empire Boardwalk and the designers later returned to complete sets for other productions.  The designers for MIB III perused vintage seashore items in August of '10.   And the list goes on.

If you have a taste for the past and an intellectual curiosity for a history of the past, then Patricia's Room is your place to shop.
